When the bride and groom were formally engaged, the arrangements for a ceremony do begin. There were some superstitions that had to be followed when it was occasion for the wife to insert the couple’s house. For instance, in some Bulgarian regions, it was customary for godparents to hang a special emblem at the bride’s home after thoroughly discarding it to protect the newlyweds from bad secret and evil influences. There might also be different beliefs, depending on the area. For instance, in Montenegro, the newlyweds were required to move over a carpet that had been covered in knives because doing so was supposed to guarantee that they would have guys. Additionally, it was typical for the wife in Kosovo to bite sir from her mother-in-law’s finger. This was intended to keep the two’s connections calm and to guarantee their happiness and prosperity.

There would be a ton of dancing and ridiculous joy following the civil and religious service. Citizens enjoyed sipping rakia to savor the happiness of marriage. Even though celebrations these times are more about the pair than the party and consuming, they are nevertheless a happy occasion for everyone who attends.
